"GALA DRESS"

This photo series is an intimate collaboration with the over 70-year old disabled woman, author and dancer Tuuli Helkky Helle. The images show the abundance of physical forms through the lens of disability as part of nature’s process to find new solutions through mutations. As a contrast we see the urban struggle to stay upright in the conformism of the marketed perception of the body. In the central piece the radiating body of Tuuli is set free of any context, letting her expressive charisma come into focus. The exhibition has been shown around Finland, in San Francisco and now Berlin.

"CAT'S CRADLE" - an interactive installation at Burning Man - 2006

The Cat's Cradle is a large climbable instrument and interactive sculpture, in the form of two giant hands and a globe sticking up from the dried out salt lake of the Nevada Black Rock Desert. In-between the three objects, participants were invited to weave a web out of thick white yarn and rope. A minimal ambient sound-scape was triggered by touching the sculpture and by pulling and moving the ropes and threads, thus making each movement inside the ever denser growing maze resonate into a constant developing composition shaped by the collective.

"DISSOCIATE IDENTITY DISSORDER"

This portrait series is a bi-product of the stage production "D.I.D. - a choir piece for one man" dealing with the dillution and fragmentation of a schizoid identity. With Jorgos Fokianos
